A wise man recently said, "The planet is like the sinking Titanic. Everyone is dancing in the dining room when we should be getting into the life rafts"
Its time to do something. We are all tired of hearing about Peak Oil, climate change, habitat loss, and how it is all affecting our emotions, finances and even our health.
I have always been searching for an answer. Some key to restore the natural balance and strengthen our relationship with nature. I believe that Permaculture is that answer.
I graduated the Permaculture Design Course in July 2011 held in Nelson, BC by Verge Permaculture. I was astonished at how much the course covered and how obvious the solutions suddenly became to me. I left the course full of hope and excitement, eager to apply what I learned and move forward in a positive way.
Living in Cochrane has presented itself with unique environmental challenges that have forced me to get creative and adapt. I have installed many different permaculture projects in and around home such as vermi-posting, composting in different ways, a food forest with water harvesting earth works, a keyhole vegetable garden, creating habitat for birds and bats, natural pest control, and several others. I am looking forward to a long career where I can expand and experience all the places that permaculture can reach. It is a future without boundaries and I'm 'perma-pumped!'

Excavations Expert/Mascot
Paxi is Provisions first employee and present for every earthworks project. Although she has no previous permaculture experience, she observes nature very carefully just like any skilled permie would. She eagerly contributes to excavations and routinely suggests new sites not previously part of the plan! On hot days, she prefers to supervise under the shade of a large tree.
